FLASHBACK FRIDAY
I'm stealing an idea from a much cleverer fellow blogger of mine. Every week, she does "Wayback Wednesday" posts with old photos and stories. They're so fun to read! So I'm starting Flashback Friday (I didn't want to be a total ripoff!)

And what better way to start than by finding missing photos still on the old digital camera from last July? Ryan is going on a winter campout in Cascade tonight. The projected low is a balmy 15 degrees (have I mentioned that he's crazy?) which is actually a blessing, because the low last night was 5, and Saturdays should be about 9. And earlier this week it was negative 15. So of course, I'm sending a camera with him so he can chronicle his hypothermia and frostbite.
He doesn't like to touch my Nikon (he says he's not allowed, but he made up that rule), so I dug out the old point & shoot. I checked the memory card and WOW! 91 photos of our trip to IvyWild public swimming pool. I remember wondering where those photos had disappeared to. I seem to have forgotten that I wouldn't have taken my precious Nikon into a swimming pool...

It's the coolest pool. The baby pool is ginormous, with two slides and things to climb on, and dumpers kids can control. The main pool has two mushrooms, but has plenty of room to be away from the spray if you want. And it has a very curvy waterslide that they (here's the best part) let us take the kids on! Ryan and I take turns holding the kids so we can go off the chutes, too. They start like a water slide, but stop half-way down, so you just fall into the deep end. I know I posted about the place before, just couldn't find the pictures.

So here are some photos from last July 26th (almost exactly 6 months ago) to help you think warm thoughts:

And here's the link to see the rest of them (no, not all 91.)

That looks like a really cool pool. Lots of fun! I totally like your friend’s idea of the flash back idea. I saw something very similar to this on a photographer’s blog. She started her blog years after her wedding photography business so every now and then she would post about her past weddings. Who says your posts have to be of things current. I like this idea. I think I’m also going to jump on the bandwagon with this idea.

I like the idea too! To comment on a previous post, about Jared and the Dr. Seuss book, my Elizabeth was the same with. She lacked confidence in herself reading. It is so new, but I checked out a handful of Dr. Seuss books from the library and she read all of them by herself as well. We were amazed. Try the book Green Eggs and Ham. That one is her favorite and is very repetetive, which makes for easier reading. It looks like you are doing great, and I love your new house! How fun!!

I recognize this pool. Is it Shepherd? Something east of us. We'd either hit Stapley or Brimhall. They have the best slides. You WERE close!
